What is Inspiration?
"Trust that little voice in your head that says "Wouldn't it be interesting if..." And then do it." ~Duane Michals, "More Joy of Photography"
The true definition of inspiration is "in spirit action," moving with your inner spirit. It's that spiritual connection we have within ourselves that moves us. It can be profound and it can be subtle. The key is listening, then, taking action to allow the dance with our inner self to take place and bring forth something original and sometimes magical.
Listening to your inner self and refusing to always "move with the heard" is key. When we dare to take steps that express our inner being, we give way to inspiration. The more we move and believe in the inner reality of our core essence, we allow an ongoing flow of mystical and powerful inner knowledge that is truly unique to every individual.
Opening the dialog of inner expression and yielding to the connection between your truest self and that individual that handles the daily tasks, will set in motion the opportunity to be inspired. This is the heart, mind connection. When our heart and our mind are moving in the same direction, life becomes smoother, more brilliant and our capacity to become inspired is realized.
"I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free." ~Michelangelo
For business owners it may seem one is more flexible to live through inspiration. After all, that is why they start their own business in the first place, right? Business owners most certainly should be taking advantage of this privilege, always looking for further inspiration and opportunities to express the uniqueness of their company.
Yet, even as an employee it's highly important to allow this process to fulfill itself through you for the business in which you've chosen to give your time. This way of thinking and utilization of your energy can be very rewarding. It is where promotions are earned and advancement in life is realized. Every human has the opportunity and potential to be great. It's in all of us. Inspiration fuels enthusiasm, which is the prelude to passion, the highest source of human power.
"How many cares one loses when one decides not to be something but to be someone." ~Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel
This is cultivated by knowing one's self, knowing what it is you want, seeking to fulfill the desires of your heart.
"It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are." ~e.e. cummings
To live your dreams, you must find the rhythm of your inspiration, and dance, dance without fear!
